Apple Pie Recipe

Okay....we are not always the best at apple pies. We have the Pioneer Woman's flat apple pie down, but regular apple pies...well...we never can find a recipe we like or a pie recipe that sets well for us.

However, we are happy to report we have finally found a recipe that we love!!!

It's called Grandma Ople's Apple Pie. Here is the link to the recipe with all the exact measurements.

The recipe is a bit different than a traditional apple pie, but it's not difficult and we even used an already made pie crust. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Here is a quick snapshot of our process, but please look at the link above for the exact measurements and directions.

Step One:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Then peel, core, and slice 8 Granny Smith apples.

Step Two:

We used a little baking spray so that the pie crust doesn't stick.

Step Three:

We used already made pie crust. We rolled it out one crust and put it in the pan. For the other crust, we used a pizza cutter to make lattice strips.

Step Four:

Once you create a lattice design, use a fork to seal the pie, set your pie aside, and prep your pie solution.

Step Five:

Mix butter, water, flour, and sugars together on the stove.

The recipe did not use cinnamon, but we put cinnamon in the solution at this time.

Step Six:

Pour the pie liquid over the pie crust and in all the crevices.

Step 7:

We used a pie crust cover to help our crust not burn. Bake the pie at 425 for 15 minutes and then lower the temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 35 to 45 minutes.

Step 8:

This is how our pie came out.

This pie was delicious!! Oh, and with a cup of coffee, it's excellent!

If you are looking for an apple pie recipe, we think you should definitely give this one a try. It's perfect for the holidays.

Merry Christmas Friend & Happy Baking,

Amber & Brooke :)
