My Winter Skin Essentials

Does the winter weather do a number on your skin?

It sure does mine, especially (too much honesty here) the tip of my nose and my lips! Keeping your skin hydrated and looking fresh with the dry air outside can be a real challenge.

Full disclosure, here, not only do I have to battle with the dry air, but I also dealt with adult acne for many, many years. When I was a teen, I didn't struggle with breakouts; however, after having the boys, my hormones changed, which caused cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. No matter what age, acne is dreadful and plays havoc on your self-esteem. After years and years of trying facials and chemical peels, I was prescribed Accutane. Of course, the six months I was on it was definitely no picnic; however, it was worth every millisecond! I now have much clearer skin, and after a couple of years, I'm finally seeing real improvement in my complexion from color pigmentation scarring. However, Accutane was not the end of all of my complexion issues. I still have to keep watch and take measures to keep my skin healthy and hydrated.

I recently purchased a few products from Vanity Planet and Amazon and have absolutely loved them. Not only do I use them, but I also use them on the boys to help with their skin. Also, I am not collaborating with this brand, so this is not a sales pitch. I just have been using these items for the past few months, and I think they are too good to not share with my friends. And, the best part, it gives a spa-like treatment all in the comfort of your own home!

Aira

This facial steamer is designed to clear pores and stimulate circulation. It also works to hydrate and softens your skin. I don't use essential oils; however, you can also add essential oils to the Aira if you like. This steamer truly makes your face feel incredible!

Exfora

After using the Aira (you can steam your face up to 15 minutes), I then you the Exfora, a microdermabrasion system. The Exfora exfoliates and suctions away impurities in your skin. It also eliminates dead skin cells, promotes blood circulation to accelerate skin tissue, and helps with collagen production.

It has a "smart screen," so it takes all the guesswork out of the process. The screen will direct you through the entire process. It also is much gentler on your skin than peels and is ideal for people with sensitive skin.

With both the Aira and Exfora, I try to use them together two to three times a week.

Raedia Facial Cleansing Brush

This bush has many brush options to help give you clearer, glowing skin. It also helps to remove buildup, dead skin, and makeup. In addition, the brush has multiple speeds, so you can customize it to fit your skin's needs.

I have this brush in my shower, and I use it every morning and night. I can tell a huge difference in the smoothness of my skin when I use and don't use it. Oh, and the best part is that it's water-resistant too!

Extractor Kit

I just recently bought this extractor kit. I have used it on myself, and it helps not cause scars or redness to my face. I have been trying to let the boys allow me to give them a "facial;" however, they said I can't go anywhere near with these tools!

It only cost $9, and for me, it has helped. I like to "mess" with my face and often will cause a scar, so this has been a big help. The tools are also rust-resistant, stainless steel, and have an anti-slip grip, so you don't cause damage to your face.

HOWEVER, I have quickly learned that you need to understand how to use these tools, or you could hurt yourself. So make sure to do your research before using it on yourself.

BAD NEWS:

Unfortunately, everything from Vanity Planet is sold out!! But, good news, you can sign up for a notification when they are back in stock, so you don't miss out!

I hope your skin stays healthy, friend.
